The ESG_Pav project demonstrates the advantages of computer aided design, collaboration, and production technologies. The parti-concept for this project was the design and programming of a parametrically driven architecture that could be designed by “users” of a web based configurator. The underlying technology relies on a logical and parametric geometry structure which was developed, programmed and implemented by the postgraduate students of the CAADNDS study program. The pavilion has since been the instigation of a number of projects that use this concept of the “digital production chain”. This methodology is conceived for every stage of the work, from the design to the production of architecture, and still allows for the creation of highly individualized solutions within the mind-set of mass-production methods.
